A domestic comedy, Amor al Aire Libre (Love in the Open Air) is full of everyday, constantly surprising humor. We meet a rigid, middle class family of dubious name; an army general’s widow and her son who has been raised in the discipline of a civil soldier. Classically inflexible in their life style, they encounter a new neighbor: a young woman who, besides beauty and an open character, brings with her a life experience of an imperious father, an ultra-practical ex-husband, and an egoistical lover. Via their adjoining balconies, the two young people begin to communicate and to feel, unwillingly, a mutual attraction they’d never known and didn’t really want.
