About This Show

Jack Worthing is about to discover the folly of living a double life. In his country home, he goes by Jack; but when he travels to town, he assumes the name of Ernest. This dual identity serves his intentions well…until he falls in love with Gwendolen, who vows she will only love a man whose name is Ernest! Comical conflict explodes when Jack’s friend, Algernon, poses as his fictitious brother and meets Cecily, Jack’s ward, who is infatuated with the imaginary Ernest. What’s so important about being Ernest? It’s all in the name in this classic comedy!
