About the Show

This 1960 musical is a tongue-in-cheek, song-in-the-heart, rhythm-in-the-feet safari through the 1960?s. It tells the story of a rock and roll star who is drafted into the service and comes to a small town to say goodbye to an adoring fan. Music is by Charles Strouse, with lyrics by Lee Adams, and a book by Michael Stewart. Songs include “Put On a Happy Face,” “Honestly Sincere” and “A Lot of Livin’ To Do.”
