“Hip Hop and Comics: A Cola-Con Exhibit” is the newest collaborative exhibit to be displayed in the SoulHaus Gallery at the Koger Center.
Join us for an opening reception for the newest exhibit in the SoulHaus Gallery at the Koger Center on November 14, from 5-7 p.m. This exhibit features work by Dan Lish, Sanford Greene, Dre Lopez, Shepard Fairey, Danny Hastings and more. The reception features a live performance from MAJIMA.
Born and raised in the heart of the South, MAJIMA began her musical journey in the most soulful of places; the youth choir of her local church. From those humble beginnings, she discovered a deep and lasting love for music that speaks directly to the soul, music that resonates with the essence of the human spirit.
Throughout her career, MAJIMA has worn many musical hats. She has been the silent strength in the background, lending her lush harmonies to support and elevate fellow artists. As a member of a talented songwriting collective, she refined her craft, learning the art of storytelling through collaboration and lyrical expression. And as the lead vocalist of a captivating world music band, she once took audiences on a global journey; her stunning vocals weaving together cultures, emotions, and sounds into something truly timeless.
Now, stepping fully into her own light, MAJIMA is pursuing her solo career with renewed purpose and passion. Her voice carries the richness of her southern roots and the wisdom of her journey; each note infused with authenticity, warmth, and spirit. Deeply inspired by the timeless artistry of Marvin Gaye, Lauryn Hill, Stevie Wonder, and Rachelle Ferrell, MAJIMA channels their influence into music that uplifts, heals, and connects.
Her melodies are like a warm, comforting embrace; a soothing balm for the weary soul. Every song she writes and performs is a reflection of her life’s journey, an exploration of love, loss, resilience, and growth. For those who have loved deeply, lost painfully, and lived passionately, her music offers both solace and strength.
MAJIMA stands as a testament to the enduring power of music; its ability to bridge divides, awaken emotion, and speak truth. From the pews of her southern church to stages across the world, she continues to soar as a solo artist, crafting songs that remind us all of the beauty, vulnerability, and unbreakable spirit of the human soul.
