About the Show
Jazz music originated in New Orleans but quickly traveled up
the Mississippi River to destinations like Memphis and Chicago. In our special
concert at the Prescott Jazz Summit Festival, we will take you on that journey
by playing the music that transformed people’s perception of American music in
the early 1900s. Jazz Music is “America’s True Art Form,” being the only form of music actually created in our country. We will not only perform the music
but also discuss historical insights and share anecdotes regarding the history
of our music. Musicians from across Arizona and the USA will join us to perform
during the festival.
