The Fulton Theatre season concludes with a stirring and heart-rending contemporary musical adaptation of Madame Butterfly from the same composer-lyricist team as Les Misérables. Years after leaving Vietnam, an American soldier discovers his war bride is still alive and is now raising their son. He returns to Saigon to find her, but with the Viet Cong closing in on the city and other ties at home binding him, he is forced to make some large decisions before leaving Vietnam again.
“Irresistibly moving. It offers lush melodies…haunting saxophone-flecked ballads…and a good cry.” The New York Times
