The Pink Frolic Ball made its debut in 1955 at the Pittsburgh Field Club. The elegant dinner dance quickly became one of Pittsburgh’s most anticipated social events of the year. Today, several traditions from that inaugural event including the sale of "Pink Boxes" are still an integral part of this fun-filled event. Recently, the event has been highlighted by the presentation of the Richard Rodgers Award for Excellence in Musical Theater. This year’s gala will honor the careers of Pittsburgh CLO Alumni Kathleen Marshall and Rob Marshall who have both enjoyed celebrated careers as directors and choreographers.
