Blank Slate Theatre, Columbus’ home for theatrical, relationship-driven improvisation, focuses on authentic connection, grounded scenes, and meaningful characters. Our classes teach performers to build compelling onstage relationships and create funny, strange, or moving scenes rooted in emotional truth. Whether you’re an experienced improviser, an actor sharpening your instincts, or a curious beginner, Blank Slate helps you find your voice and use it with purpose. Take improv to a new level and grow as an actor, storyteller, and performer.
About the Class
Step onto the stage with nothing prepared—and discover how connection, creativity, and courage unlock not only great scenes but also a more authentic you. This 5-week Level 1 course at Blank Slate School of Improv is built around "The Improviser’s Wheel of Connection", a strong foundation for riveting improv. Whether you're new to improv or aiming to strengthen your skills as an actor in scripted or improvised theater, this experience will help you show up fully on stage and in life. NOTE: The 5 week class begins on September 6, and will run for five weeks. All classes are on Saturday morning, from 10am to noon. If scheduling conflicts should happen, make-up dates agreeable to the majority of students and instructors will be scheduled.
