The modern classic musical by Sherman Edwards and Peter Stone is directed by Matthew Earnest of New York City. 1776 follows Adams, Jefferson and Franklin as they set about to draft the Declaration of Independence in Philadelphia during that fateful year. Nancy Whelan, a regular musical collaborator with North Carolina Theatre and Raleigh Little Theatre, serves as musical director. The show features Broadway and off-Broadway veteran John Moletross as Thomas Jefferson, Raleigh’s David Henderson as John Adams and Carolyn McKenna as Abigail Adams.
There is no performance on Wednesday, October 4 or Thursday, October 5.
There are matinee performances on Saturday, September 30 and Saturday, September 7 at 2:00 PM.
The first Sunday show, on September 24th at 2:00 PM, is a “Pay What You Can” performance.
