An Uncivil Union: The Battle of Burnsville

At the height of the Civil War and during the hardest winter in recent memory, a group of women raided the Confederate storehouse in Burnsville, NC. They stole only wheat. The next day, a group of men raided the same storehouse and stole guns and bacon. This clever and witty new pay imagines what might have happened and reminds us that heroes can come from the most unexpected places.
