SFJAZZ Collective

Founded in 2004, the SFJAZZ Collective is an all-star ensemble consisting of eight of the finest performers/ composers in jazz today. The collective is not rooted in any one musician’s concept of jazz but rather a workshop band that features a changing line-up hand selected to contribute their own unique sounds, styles and voices making it a true collective.

Each year, SFJAZZ performs a new list of compositions by jazz masters the likes of Ornette Coleman, McCoy Tyner, Thelonious Monk and Horace Silver in addition to new pieces by the Collective itself. But this year SFJAZZ ventures, for the first time,into the pop genre featuring music composed and inspired by Stevie Wonder. Eight new songs commissioned for this tour along with Stevie Wonder
