Quartet

Studio Arena Theater presents the comedy, Quartet written by Ronald Harwood and directed by Gavin Cameron-Webb. This production is produced with Merrimack Repertory Theatre in Lowell, MA.

Quartet is a comedy about four retired opera singers who were once the brightest stars of the opera world. Cecily, Reggie, and Wilfred now blissfully reside in a home for retired singers. But their tranquility is soon shattered by a new resident named Jean – a high strung, demanding diva and Reggie’s former wife. Sparks erupt into comic fireworks when the four are asked to recreate their signature quartet from Rigoletto for the home’s annual celebration of Verdi. Memories of personal and professional glories and disaster are unleashed while the retirees reveal their less eccentric personas.
