You walk into an unassuming office building in Herald Square and ride an elevator to the 6th floor. You continue through a narrow hallway and stop at the door to Louis Tannen’s – the oldest magic shop in New York City.
Inside there are sprawling bookshelves, colorful boxes, and hundreds of drawers with mysterious labels. Host Noah Levine takes the group through the space telling some of the store’s most curious historical anecdotes, sometimes pausing to perform one of Tannen’s best sellers from the 1930’s.
Everyone is seated at a circular table, and all the lights are turned out except for a single overhead lamp. With the table as a stage, an interactive show begins.
