St. James United Methodist Church of Lynbrook presents the Gilbert & Sullivan Light Opera Company of Long Island in a performance of their outstanding revue, Gilbert & Sullivan from A to Z. The performance offers a unique look at the works of Gilbert & Sullivan and includes 26 songs – at least one from every G&S opera, and each representing a different letter of the alphabet. The songs include such familiar tunes as “The Pirate King’s Anthem” from The Pirates of Penzance and “The Flowers that Bloom in the Spring” from The Mikado, as well as less-familiar songs which are sure to prove every bit as enjoyable.
This light-hearted soufflé of an afternoon begins with a friendly sandwich-and-salad meal in family-style seating. Soft beverages and other side items are included, and a dessert buffet is provided at the one intermission. The hall is entirely accessible for the physically challenged and wheelchair seating can be arranged.
Gilbert & Sullivan from A to Z truly offers something for everyone — comic patter songs, love duets, and beautiful quartet and quintet harmonies.
Appropriate For All Ages.
