About This Show

Zeffirelli’s production of Puccini’s Tosca — an audience favorite — features a dramatic cast that includes Deborah Voigt as the fiery Tosca, Marcello Giordani as her hapless lover, Cavaradossi, and James Morris as the sadistic Baron Scarpia.

Based on a play by Sardou for the famous actress Sarah Bernhardt, the story’s themes of action, sex, love, lust, politics, art and religion are set to Puccini’s infectious melodies, and Tosca has become one of the most popular operas of the last hundred years for singers and audiences alike.

Conducted by Carlo Rizzi with Deborah Voigt/Aprile Millo, Marcello Giordani/Eduardo Villa, James Morris/Greer Grimsley, Paul Plishka/Thomas Hammons
