About This Show

Mention the Rembrandts to most people and the words “I’ll Be There For You” will undoubtedly figure heavily among the responses. And with good reason: the theme song Danny Wilde and Phil Solem contributed their talents to for NBC-TV sitcom Friends, became a radio smash hit worldwide and raised the profile of a partnership, that until that point, had only enjoyed critical acclaim as opposed to wild commercial success.

But, although the outfit the duo founded in 1989 is generally defined in the public perception by “I’ll Be There For You”, long-time fans of the duo know there is much, much, more to the Rembrandts than just one song.

It is, perhaps, entirely appropriate that Danny and Phil did co-write and record the theme to Friends, given that their musical association goes back to 1981 and the L.A. band, Great Buildings. But their alliance as kindred musical spirits really began on the 1990 self-titled Rembrandts album, which spawned the addictive Top 20 hit “Just The Way It Is, Baby”.

Featuring special guest openers Jesse Valenzuela & Craig Northey. Northey was a founding member and one of the principal singer/songwriters of the band Odds. Odds wrote and recorded four albums and had a top ten single with “Heterosexual Man.” Jesse Valenzuela is the guitarist in The Gin Blossoms.

Appropriate for all ages.
