The Coney Island Circus Sideshow

Established by Coney Island, USA in 1985, where else would you find the world’s first professional non-profit theatre dedicated to keeping alive the American sideshow? Billed as the only “ten-in-one” sideshow still in existence in North America (the term refers the number of acts that can be seen for a single price). The ten-in-one circus sideshow is another Coney Island gift to culture along with other Brooklyn beach inventions like the hot dog and the roller coaster.

Some of the spectacles you will witness: DIAMOND DONNY: The Human Blockhead who hammers a Nail into the center of his head and lives to laugh and joke about it. Donny will also stick his hand into an animal trap and his tongue into a rat trap. HEATHER HOLIDAY: The world’s youngest female sword swallower. EAK THE GEEK: The Illustrated Man who tattooed his face like outer space. He lays on a bed of nails and asks the heaviest man in the audience to stand on his chest. SCOTT BAKER: Glass Eater who will chomp down on a 75 watt lightbulb. REMY VICIOUS: Snake charmer with her 15 foot albino burmese python snake. INSECTAVORA: Will climb a ladder of razor sharp machetes in her bare feet.
