The Amelia Project

About the Show

The Amelia Project is an evening-length Aerial Dance work, based on and inspired by the life of Amelia Earhart. The work portrays Earhart’s love affair with flight and the delicate balance of life pushed to physical and emotional limits. Composer Ken Pierson will perform his piano and percussion score for each show. Fly-by-Night’s repertory stretches the boundaries of Modern Dance and the roles of women in our society. The dancers are strong and independent and lift themselves effortlessly. The work has emotional underpinnings but is powerfully athletic.
