Swing, Swing, Swing!

As a part of the 92nd Street Y’s Lyrics & Lyricists, Swing, Swing, Swing! presents some of the great songs of the era (roughly mid-1930s to mid-1940s): “Chattanooga Choo-Choo,” made famous by Glenn Miller; ballads like “Until the Real Thing Comes Along” and “You Make Me Love You;” Johnny Mercer hits like “Goody Goody” and “GI Jive;” and “Darn that Dream,” the hit dance number from Swinging the Dream, a swing-era version of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. This event also includes dancing by Carol Fraser and Chester Brady Meier, a dynamic young Jitterbug and Lindy-Hop dance team.
