Prayers From Ohio

The Bengsons return to Ars Nova for a concert featuring new music from Ohio, the third and final part of their autobiographical trilogy. Ohio tells the story of Shaun’s family and their multigenerational history with the church, music, and hearing loss. The Bengsons will be sharing brand-new tunes about losing and finding faith, reckoning with the actions of his ancestors in settling the Middle West, as well as putting on a sort of wake for Shaun’s hearing, a celebration for the years his ears have given him as well as imagining the world of stillness and silence that is waiting on the other side.
