About This Show

SLANT presents Wa Zu, a new music, choreographic, and theatrical spectacle about modern primitives and an exploration of rituals. Three downtown New York performance artists are forced to parachute from an airplane bound for Little Rock, AK. They land in a place filled with monkey suits and dragon heads. With flashy painted bodies, a guitar-wielding ghost girl from a Chinese mountain village, an ethereal peacock dance and a drum-banging and earth-stomping rock-n-roll Mekong delta dance, SLANT takes you on a journey of dreams and ancient funk music, all told through an invented primal language.
