About the Show

With the impending war with Iraq and the “War on Terrorism” under way, Under Milk Wood is a powerful shift away from the fear and hate surrounding us all right now. It is a fresh look into the delightful and at times “toxic” lives of a Welsh Sea Village from daybreak to sundown. Under Milk Wood is moments passing by a window. It brings onto stage a life that is not bound by time and place. It is a peek into all of our lives – a peek into the here and now.

This works by Dylan Thomas was originally performed in New York City as a reading moments before the author passed away. This show brought together inspired, ambitious actors for the creation of this lyrical poem into play form. Now, once again, it will be the launching pad for an up-and-coming theatre company who will also be a vital part of the New York theatre scene.

The Unbound Theatre presents this play for voices, directed by Moni Yakim, director/teacher for Circle in the Square and Julliard Drama Division.
