Two on Two’s new installment features work-in-progress by two seasoned choreographers: Angles of Incidence by Amy Cox and Distance.dancerum.2 by Foofwa d’Imobilite. Angles of Incidence is based on Amy Cox’s year-and-a-half study of the casual gestures exchanged among a group of dancers. Behaving more like a scientist, Amy Cox offers an artificial world where patterns and impulses are stripped of their human meaning. Distance.dancerum.2 is a trio that uses endurance running as its basic choreographic idiom. A hybrid between sport actions and physical dance, the work reconfigures the units of measurement in terms of hours and kilometers, stretching time and space as traditionally conceived in choreography.
