About This Show

Transcript is a new solo film and video project by artist Jenny Perlin, who is known for her live-action and animated films that work within and against the documentary tradition. Transcript evolved from the artist’s research into now-public FBI documents of secretly transcribed conversations from the Red Scare of the 1950’s.

Addressing the expansive net of espionage during the McCarthy era and the resulting paranoia about hidden enemies, Perlin’s work underscores parallels to the current anxieties surrounding privacy and surveillance in contemporary America.

The exhibition is open Tuesdays-Fridays from 12:00pm to 6:00pm, and on Saturdays from 11:00am-6:00pm.
