About This Show

SIRmUMSILA MEDIA Inc presents The XXXotika Review, by Carmen Barika, as part of the 10th annual New York International Fringe Festival.

In this classic Bohemian tale with a modern twist, young, dying ex-exotic dancer and Hurricane Katrina refugee “XXXotika” comes to New York hoping to get discovered and to fall in love before it’s too late. She puts on her exotic, Burlesque street show nightly for passersby in which she dances and sings satirical songs about her xxxtraordinary xxxperiences living in poverty. Meanwhile, an ex-poet turned heartless, cut throat journalist “Sigmund Hall” finds economic and coital opportunity in this wacky, lively number. He doesn’t realize the truth about his feelings for her until it’s too late.
