Join Dorothy as she gets her groove back in The Wiz. Cultural icon meets phat city and the result is the original ghetto-fabulous afropalooza with a saucy big city strut. It’s more than multicultural, it’s a somewhere over the rainbow coalition. A jumping, jiving juggernaut of rock, soul, blues, hip-hop, rap and gospel (and One HOT Tony Award winning choreographer: Mr. George Faison)…it’s all that, and Toto too!
This Uptown Theater Fest Production (Producer) is an abbreviated 21st Century version of the musical geared especially towards young audiences. The Wiz takes us on a whirlwind of adventures as this Harlem youth ensemble under George Faison’s guiding hand, along with a few adult professional actors performs this black musical theater classic with a vivacious twist.
