The Surprise

Wandering the countryside a holy friar meets a mysterious traveling showman. The friar watches a short play performed by the showman’s amazingly life-like puppets. It is a lovely play filled with romance, generosity, sacrifice, and honor, and the puppet-master truly loves his creations. He loves them so much that he begs the friar to pray for a miracle. He wants them to come to life, as human beings. His wish is granted, but one must always remember to be careful for what one wishes. Storm Theatre presents the world premiere of G.K. Chesteron’s The Surprise.
