The Song of Songs

The Archer Stage Company will produce the new Off Broadway musical, The Song of Songs. Based on a little-known Sholom Alecheim story, this theatrical event tells the bittersweet story of Shimek and Buzie, two young, star-crossed lovers whose love is doomed by the customs of their time. Alecheim (1859-1916) was a prolific writer with 28 volumes of short stories to his credit; in fact this is the only love story he ever wrote.
