About This Show

Based on a story by Rudyard Kipling, The Man Who Would be King recounts the frequently comic but ultimately dramatic adventures of Daniel and Peachy, a ragged pair of scoundrels who manage to take reign over a pagan society sequestered in the mountains of imperial India. They sought gold, but gained unexpected nobility when Daniel is mistaken for the long promised messiah. Which man loses his heart to the high priest’s mesmerizing daughter? Join this exciting journey as their simplistic scheme is woven into a web of intrigue: awareness dawns on the con men while the tribal society’s resistance to change escalates.

The Man Who Would Be King stars Broadway leading man Tony Lawson (Les Miserables) as Daniel, Paul Anthony Stewart (Guiding Light, Loving and Cyrano) as Peachy, and Mandy Bruno (Guiding Light) will portray Roxanne. The show is composed by Neil Berg (The Prince and the Pauper) and the book is written by DJ Salisbury (Children on Their Birthdays).
