About the Show

In Jean Genet’s The Maids, two servants play the same game each night, a game in which they act out the murder of their mistress. Their self loathing and alienation, and dependence on each other, push them to the depths of mental trauma and into a ritual that almost allows them to transcend their position. Ultimately they face a choice: will they kill Madame, or turn the violence on each other?
