About This Show

Synapse Productions is breaking new ground with IGNITE – a three-week multi-media arts festival at the Ohio Theatre showcasing more than 100 of New York City’s most talented up-and-coming and established artists working today in theatre, film, music, dance, and performance art.

A heady mix of cabaret, one acts, vaudeville, monologues, comedy, dance, and manifestos, /b>IGNITE06 will feature seven extraordinary 90-minute live performance programs — including over 30 daring and adventurous new works that comment on, criticize, celebrate, or ridicule the hot topics and timely issues that shape our lives today.

In keeping with the Synapse belief that the arts can be an instrument of change, IGNITE06 will also include a program of moderated debates and panel discussions to engage with the ideas addressed by the festival, and spark conversations to inspire social and political action.
