About This Show

Revolving Shakespeare Company presents two plays in repertory: Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice and Nat Colley’s new sequel The Doctor of Rome. Setting Shakespeare’s play in 1927 and the sequel 18 years later (immediately following World War II), Colley’s play adds the character of Daniel, Shylock’s grandson by his daughter Jessica. Portia and Bassanio have kept Daniel’s Jewish identity carefully hidden from him, and when he discovers his past, he must decide which path of life to pursue.

There are no performances on Thursday, May 16 or Sunday, May 19.
