About This Show

The Eleventh Hour Theatre Co. and The Culture Project present Alexander Harrington’s stage adaptation of Dostoevsky’s novel The Brothers Karamazov, Part I. Considered by many to be the Russian author’s
masterpiece, it is, on one hand, a thrilling murder mystery and soap opera, and on the other, a profound philosophical work. It tells the story of the perverse and debauched landowner and moneylender Fyodor Karamazov and
his three sons: the passionate and sensual Dmitry, the intellectual Ivan and the deeply religious Alyosha. When Fyodor is murdered, suspicion naturally falls on Dmitry, who has been fighting with his father over money and competing with him for the affections of the femme fatale Grushenka
Svetlova. But, is Dmitry really the murderer? Alexander Harrington directs.
