About the Show

The 1923 hit Sun-Up dives into the heart of southern Appalacia. In the remote mountains of North Carolina, on the eve of World War I, widow Cagill lives by the laws she was brought up on: moonshining to make ends meet, and feuding to right old wrongs. But with a new sheriff telling her the town has laws of its own, and the draft calling her son to a land she has never heard of, she is barely holidng out against the demands of the world around her.
