tangent theatre company presents Subway Series, an evening of short plays connected to the subway, where the expected and unexpected occur every day.

Plays include:

The Subway (from Somewhere in Between) by Craig Pospisil, directed by Keith Teller
A tourist asks for directions downtown and gets an earful from New Yorkers on the train.

Quick & Dirty (A Subway Fantasy) by David Reidy, directed by Greg Skura
Provocative interaction occurs when two people lock eyes on a subway platform.

The Local by Michael Rhodes, directed by Darleen Jaeger
Following an attack on the subway, the victim struggles to recall the experience in order to identify his assailant.

The Attractive Women on the Train by P. Seth Bauer, directed by Greg Skura
A woman recalls the ongoing, sometimes uneasy, occasionally alluring stares of a subway admirer.

The behavior of subway riders is filled with unspoken dialogue and hidden drama.

Down in the Depths by Michael Rhodes, directed by Keith Teller
during one ride, a former couple has a chance meeting, two brothers’ conversation becomes tenuous and a seasoned actress encourages a colleague.

The ensemble features Sophie Acadine, Rolando Garcia III, Barbara Helms,* Mark Hofmaier,* Lois Markle,* Paul Molnar,* Michael Rhodes,* Greg Skura,* Jill Van Note* and Hilary Ward. The creative team includes David Rigler (set design); Deborah Constantine (light design); and original music by Aaron Hondros.

The evening will also feature a live musical piece, including performance by John Bardsley and other invited artists throughout the run.
