About This Show

The Still Life Theater Company presents their inaugral offering, Still Life: 2 American Portraits. The evening is directed by Kathryn Rossetter.

About Face, written by Kass Munnell

40 miles south of Knoxville, take a left, and there you will find Rhonda Louise Jenkins and Peggity Lee Teppler, in the backyard of Rhonda’s perfectly appointed mobile home. Peggity is at the beginning — her first Mary Kay Cosmetics Party; Rhonda is at the end — of her rope. As their afternoon becomes increasingly edged with bitter humor, high emotions and a little tequila, friendship is tested, hair is pulled and the two learn to stand in each other?s shoes.

The Canarsie Line, written by Marla Mase

Meet Bev, Syl, Loretta, Larry and Emmie, the quirky members of a family living in 1970’s Canarsie, Brooklyn, who show us that life, though seemingly motionless, is anything but still. Dark, funny with true grit, The Canarsie Line connects interior lives to real life consequences via snapshot-stops along the way. Featuring an ensemble cast, the writing and acting both are a fresh addition to New York’s theater scene.
