About This Show

The Irish Arts Center presents a reading of Joseph O’Connor’s book Star of the Sea. Leaving an Ireland torn by famine and injustice in the bitter winter of 1847, hundreds of passengers board the “Star of the Sea” headed for the promise of the New World. Among them are a maid with a devastating secret, the bankrupt Lord Merridith and his wife and children, and a killer who is stalking the decks, hungry for the vengeance that will bring absolution. O’Connor’s book takes these mysterious, exotic and dangerous characters on a journey that will see many lives end, and many begin.

The event includes a wine & cheese reception.
