About This Show

The Amas Six O’Clock Musical Theatre Lab presents Spin, featuring book, music and lyrics by M. Kilburg Reedy, with orchestrations by Jonathan Dinerstein, musical direction by Ken Legum, and direction by Matt M. Morrow.

Spin unravels the story of a headstrong and ambitious young weaver named Arachne who goes to Athens to pursue success as an artist. When she wins a commission from the jealous Goddess Athena, a showdown of mythic proportions ensues that forever changes Arachne’s view of the world and her creative life. Based on the Greek myth, this modern rock/gospel musical gives a new twist to an ancient tale of a rebellious young artist at odds with the Gods.

Featuring the talents of Anika Larsen (Lucille Lortel Award Nominee for Zanna, Don’t!), Fred Owens (Man of La Mancha, Smokey Joe’s Café), Blair Ross (42nd Street), Stacey Sargeant (Harlem Song), Amanda Ryan Paige (Zanna, Don’t!), Matthew Wexler (Ragtime), Mika Nishida (Miss Saigon), Sean Jeremy Palmer (Hair) and Izetta Fang, the presentation will also feature a four piece rock/gospel band.
