About This Show

SLAM Theatre asks audiences to be vocal, get on stage and witness the next generation of emerging playwrights and actors in action.

At SLAM, artists ask audiences to get involved in the process of making theater. Playwrights bring fresh scripts, and actors are called out of a hat to perform them, completely unrehearsed. Then the judges score them. Writers of the top scoring plays get to unveil more of their work and bring a director on to jump in and act fast as they give timed notes. SLAM is an evening of theater with impromptu performance, spontaneous collaboration, and friendly competition. Want to participate? Playwrights, show up with scripts. Actors, come ready to play. Audience, bring your voice.

It’s raw, it’s rowdy, it’s real.
