About This Show

Like most actors, Leopoldo makes his living doing something else while awaiting his big break. In his case, it’s as a test-person for medical and pharmaceutical research. Only minutes away from what he hopes will be his breakthrough performance as Shakespeare’s Richard III, Leopoldo experiences a most unpleasant pharmaceutical side effect: diarrhea. Forced to sit on the toilet, he recites his lines and gossips about his life, his parts, and theater in general. Shakespeare’s Stoerwork is a monologue in German and English, written and directed by Martin Schnick and performed by Thomas Franke. The U.S. premiere is part of The New York International Fringe Festival.
