About This Show

Co-conceived and written by Willard Morgan and Jerrold Ziman, directed by Jenny Lee Mitchell, Saint Hollywood stars Willard Morgan as a New York comedian careening through Hollywood in search of the big break.

Saint Hollywood combines performance with installation and media art. In the course of his quest, the comic stumbles into a veritable rogue’s gallery of extraordinary, real-life Tinsel Town non-conformists whose fantasy habitats are gradually giving ground to urban gentrification. Will he measure up and join their saintly order himself? In his day of reckoning, his idols’ unblinking individualism may be just beyond his reach.

Saint Hollywood features video design by Alex Koch and Lucia Jeesun Lee; scenic design by Anna Kiraly; lighting by David Tirosh, and installation design by Darlene Ken. John Sullivan is the production’s music director. The onstage performers include the DJ Eunice Wong, and the singer-dancers Shannon Antalan, Zoe Rosario, and Ruco Nishino. Choreography is by Maura Malloy. Ayaka May Komatsu is the visual artist.

A special pre-show from 6pm to 8pm, allows audience members to explore the show’s immersive mixed media set from the inside.
