About This Show

Raw Impressions Music Theatre presents its Event #11.
What is RIMT?
8 composers and 8 writers are randomly paired on a Friday evening.
They are given some guidelines in creating a new music theatre piece.
The first draft is sight read by 10 actor/singers that Sunday afternoon.
The writers have 3 days for rewrites.
The performers have 4 days for rehearsal with 2 directors and 2 music directors.
They present the new pieces to the public a week after the first reading.

RIMT believes in music theatre being an immediate community experience and a reflection of what’s going on around us right now – not filtered by anyone and not hampered in a lengthy process before the audience receives it. Participants in RIMT have had productions at venues from BAM to Lincoln Center and have received awards including the Guggenheim, Rockefeller, Richard Rogers and Jonathan Larsen Awards.
