The Abrons Arts Center presents the U.S. premiere of Portrait of a Stolen Spring by David Verbeeck and Wim Verhoeven. Featuring the original Belgian cast, Portrait of a Stolen Spring is an internationally acclaimed musical drama that tells the true story of Chaja Zimmerman and Moses Kalter, two Ukrainian Jews who left their homeland at the beginning of the 20th century hoping to reach America via the port of Antwerp on the Red Star Line. Poignant, stirring, and beautifully performed, this production debuted in 2003 to unanimous critical praise and packed houses, and received numerous international awards.
