About This Show

Peter Kyle Dance makes its New York City debut with the company’s signature blend of theatricality and athleticism. Featuring two world premieres, To What Extent, based on Dickens’ Great Expectations, and In Five… and… Seven, with percussionist Rich Huntley and Danish pianist Nikolaj Hess, the program concludes with Kyle performing a tribute to modern dance legend and long time Henry Street Settlement teacher and artist Murray Louis, with a performance of Louis’s commanding solo, Frail Demons (1984). Louis cheers Kyle, a former member of the Nikolais/Louis Company, as an “artist of the most gifted kind… intelligent, dedicated, and outstanding to watch.”
