PERMANENT RESIDENCE: Live in Concert

Singer, composer, and actor Abby Ahmad presents songs from her debut musical PERMANENT RESIDENCE at The Green Room 42. Conceived during the pandemic amid the haunting beauty of Brooklyn’s Green-Wood Cemetery, the piece follows Laura Keene — a celebrated 19th‑century actress and theatre manager whose legacy was eclipsed by her connection to Lincoln’s assassination. In her present-day afterlife among Green-Wood’s artistic spirits, Keene creates a new musical to reclaim her place in theatre history. Joined by fellow departed legends like Jean-Michel Basquiat and Leonard Bernstein, she unearths the overlooked stories of women buried there — voices lost or diminished by time. PERMANENT RESIDENCE explores death, legacy, and the creative process itself. The cast will feature Abby Ahmad, Akie Bermiss, Aisha de Haas, Tsebiyah Mishael Derry, Hannah Fairchild, Sentell Harper, Adam Minkoff, Gabby Sherba, Elizabeth Ziman, and Sean Zuckerman, with music direction by Mark Marshall.
