The Immediate Family has distilled Henrik Ibsen’s classic four-hour opus into a 90-minute actor-driven romp. Scott Raker’s adaptation explores the unfixed nature of identity by having three actors play the title role, while the rest of the ensemble creates palaces, troll kingdoms, and far-away deserts around them. Composer Mackenzie Shivers adds to the magic by performing her re-imaginings of Edvard Grieg’s famous score.
