Parental Guidance Suggested is a musical dark comedy about the stressful workday at a daycare from the perspective of Irene, the teacher’s assistant who does the dirty work of the job: cleaning, caring for chaotic kids (played by adult actors), diaper-changing, toilet training, food prep, and more — all for minimum wage. Irene breaks the fourth wall to confide in the audience as she deals with the exhausting misery that is her job.
