About This Show

The Heights Players is proud to present Thornton Wilder’s Our Town. It is exactly 75 years since Our Town first opened on Broadway and the Heights Players is honored to stage this poignant, powerful play, whose ideals still resonate in 2013. Our Town explores the lives of people living in a small, quintessential American town. Covering a period from 1901 to approximately 1913, the play is set in the fictional New Hampshire community of Grover’s Corners, and is divided into three aspects of the human experience: Daily Life, Love and Marriage, and Death and Loss. Received with mixed reviews at its premiere in 1938, but awarded the Pulitzer Prize, Our Town has become one of the most popularly produced plays of the twentieth century.
