Written by David D. Wright and direcetd by Aixa Kendrick, Obatala (King of the White Cloth) tells the story of the white-haired monarch in a tale of creation from a Yoruba perspective. Beginning with his descent to the earth, his conflict with his brother Olokun, his marriage to Yemmu, the creation of human beings, to his attempting to parent his children. It is a dance drama that encompasses the human condition in the arena of striving for good character.
