Receiving its World Premiere, Myth America invites audiences to take a tour through the eyes and voices of Americans from all walks of life and ethnic backgrounds as they live out their American dreams and myths – both accomplished and crushed, with expectations exceeded and unfulfilled. From the Old West to Ike’s 1950s and continuing through the 21st century, this ensemble-driven piece examines the vast range of America’s Melting Pot and our conflicting views and values. Icons, idols and symbols are examined and explored – running the gamut from baseball (The Great American Pastime), to Marilyn Monroe, to the modern family unit and even the acquisition of the perfect vacuum.
